Butterfly Days Are Here

Get ready to come on out to our highly anticipated “Butterfly Days” ®. This special annual event will run on September 6, 7, 13, 14, 20, and 21 from 11 am to 4 pm each day.

The Monarch Butterflies are already starting to gather for their long journey to Mexico. Join in this amazing migration by releasing your very own butterfly for just $8 into the wild. Each Monarch is marked with a special tracking tag on it. Through the Monarch Watch program, at the University of Kansas, this tag is used to track its migration and information is sent back the participants if their butterfly is found in Mexico. GreenWay is a proud member of the Monarch Watch and our Butterfly Garden has been certified as a Monarch Watch WayStation. Come out and learn more about this great program, and how you can be involved.

On Sunday September 21st at 3 pm, we will be doing a major butterfly release. It’s a spectacular sight, so mark it on your calendars now.

Combine your Butterfly Day experience with a visit to our Butterfly Farm and Conservatory. It’s filled with dozens different kinds of tropical and native butterflies, as well as caterpillars, pupae and butterfly eggs. Come in and see what you can find.

We will also have special guests on hand to answer all of your butterfly questions. Come out and be entertained.
